» Poem: Pregnancy
Pregnancy
written by brokenxsmile
07:55 PM 2/26/05
She stopped and listened and debated
On the mat in front of the door
She heard his voice and knew he was there
Even though it was a quarter to four

A tear ran down her cheek
As she knocked on the door
She'd always loved her life
But now she wanted to be no more

She saw his face when he opened the door
And the look of fear in his eyes
But she had no pity for him
It was time to find truth in his lies

He introduced her politely
To his son and his wife
But she barely even looked at them
No one knew about the unborn life

She is sixteen and scared to death
Angered with herself, and him
But she forced a smile finally
At his son, Nick, and his wife, Kim

She shifted her weight and told him
That they had to have a talk
So he nodded and told Kim
That they were going for a walk

But they really only went
To the backyard in the shed
He stood there waiting for her to speak
And once more she wished she were dead

She finally looked up at him
After she locked the door
Then she told him she was pregnant
And crying, fell to the floor

She hardly even knew him
They had just met at a bar
She didn't know Nick or Kim
She never wanted it to go this far

Her life was ruined
And so was his
But that's what happens
When you make the wrong decisions
