You Promised

You promised to care
You promised that no matter what,
You'd always be there
You promised to always
Be by my side
But the only place I find you
Is in the corner of my mind
You promised to commit
You promised to be true
You promised not to hurt me
Or make me feel blue
You promised so many things
Or did you maybe forget?
Did I just imagine this love
Have we even met?
Do you not have a conscience?
Is there anything you regret?
Or was I just some peice of ass
You could easily forget?
I'm glad you didn't get what you wanted
I'm glad I didn't let you use me
I'm glad I saw through your broken promises
I'm glad I was able to see
You promised you would love me
You promised you'd always be there
But I guess that was just make- believe
Now I know you never really cared. |
