» Poem: Desolation And Death
Desolation And Death
written by nicole_lyndon
10:01 AM 2/27/05
the man sits in a desolate corner of the livingroom
waiting for someone who will never come
at least not here and not now
he will come when the man is alone
when he is scared, not drunk
the thing, which the man calls Death,
will graciously accept the man with open arms
the man will accept the thing
not caring who or what it is
or where it might take him
he no longer sees what other men see
the man only sees in black and white
the man no longer thinks like other men
he thinks of weird things, odd things
he suddenly forgets Death is waiting for him,
Death waits calmly on the couch opposite the man,
patiently sipping a cup of coffee
the man snaps out of his daze
he looks at Death then walks over to him
and crosses the border between living and dead
