» Poem: Identity
Identity

What would it be like
to walk a mile
in another person's shoe?

who am I?
who are you?

What really is
life as we know
life that we knew?

who am I?
who are you?

What is the job
here on earth
for me to do?

who am I?
who are you?

Am I as you see me
or as how I see myself
to be true?

who am I?
who are you?

Am I my family
or am I
the future to pursue?

who am I?
who are you?

Do I have to save
a life of another
to find out who I turned into?

who am I?
who are you?

To find out who I am
must I take a journy
all the way to Kalamazoo?

who am I?
who are you?

Will I find the answers
from myself or will I
find them in full view?

who am I?
who are you?

Identity
the word is me
something we must construe.

who am I?
who are you?
