Me

I watch as the shadows
Chase away the light
As nightmares replace good dreams
As I lay on my bed
I remember all the times I cried
And compared them to how long
I refused to cry.
I realized I have locked away
My emotions
But sometimes they break
The locks I have put up
I stay locked away
In my room, mind, and heart
I found out that walking away
Is better than fighting head on
For a while.
Alone I am, but not truly
No matter how long I have been
Locked away
But tomorrow I could walk away
And forget
Forget their faces, forget their names
Forget their voices
As I sit in my room
I realize my heart is made of glass
Encased in stone, that is slowly
Breaking |
