We're Apart

We were lovers
I trusted you
You trusted me
And now we're apart
You are still on my mind,
Like you were before
I gave everything for you
Hoping all I could get in return
Is your love
You gave gifts,
You said words
And now we're apart
I watched you go,
With a slight smile on my face
But is that smile true?
My heart says no
I sit in my classes, at school,
With the appearance of happiness, and optimism,
But when I'm at home,
I feel the pain you left on my heart
I can no longer feel the happiness
That I felt with you
Because we are apart |
