» Poem: Never Regret
Never Regret
written by SilentScreamingScars
01:08 AM 3/3/05
She saw his scars,
She asked him "why?"
He frowned,
Shook his head, closed his eyes.

He didn't want to tell her.
He said he had to go.
Inside her heart was breaking.
She really had to know.

Then he walked away,
Fake smile on his face.
He didn't want his destiny,
Didn't believe in fate.

He went home, up to his room.
He searched for a pen,
Found a paper to write on,
And this is what he said:

"I never meant to hurt you,
But I don't want this life.
I really don't want to live,
I'm giving up the fight.

I can't take it anymore,
I'm sorry but I'm leaving.
As you are reading this,
I'm crying, and I'm bleeding."

He signed his name with Love.
To her he addressed the card.
He didn't want to make her cry,
But he knew she'd take it hard.

He put the note on her doorstep.
He took a moment to sigh.
He rang the doorbell like crazy,
Then ran into the night.

She opened the door and looked around,
Then her gaze fell to the ground.
She read the letter, her eyes filled of tears,
Which soon flowed down.

She ran out the door.
She ran down the street,
She raced against time,
Fearing defeat.

She threw open the door to his room,
Searched for her best friend.
Prayed she wasn't too late,
Hoped he wasn't dead.

Meanwhile he was in the bathroom,
Crimson streaming from his wrists.
Pointed the knife at his stomach,
Then made a stab followed by a twist.

She found the bathroom,
She pushed open the door,
There he lay motionless,
Bleeding on the floor.

Her eyes flooding with tears,
She grabbed the knife.
She thought about the days ahead,
She didn't want that life.

She slit her wrists,
She cut her face,
She wanted to get away,
She had to leave this place.

From her eyes fell crimson tears,
In her heart she mourned for him.
She pointed the blade at her stomach,
She took a stab then a twist, just like him.

Their bodies,
They layed there for days,
No one noticed,
No one came.

Her suicide made no difference,
In the afterlife they never met,
She often is filled with loneliness,
But never once regret.
