» Poem: Ignorance
Ignorance
written by Tessin
04:37 AM 3/3/05
To me it was only a time for stupidity,
believing words that held no validity.
Being young was blissful ignorance,
idiocy is a mainstay of innocence.
The preacher would preach, the teacher would teach,
and like a sponge, their words I would leech.
To school with a backpack, to church with a tie,
when they say, "you can be what you want", they lie.
It took twelve years for me to wake up,
it took four more for me to grow up.
so now every day, when I show up,
I know that the preacher's words are malarchy.
I know that the teachers can't handle anarchy.
Though I may be wrong from time to time,
I can make it through life on my own dime.
