--Promise--

Wipe away the tears,
When you think you're all alone,
Just remember i am here.
I know right now i'm far away,
And it feels a million miles,
In your life there's been such pain,
Though you are just a child.
And you may think sometimes,
That Mommy has gone mad,
The memories stay in your mind,
Of her being hurt by your Dad.
Now Mommy wont stop drinking,
The police took Daddy away,
All around is confusion,
And feelings you cant explain.
But when you were a baby,
I looked into your eyes,
I promised i would save you,
That i would make everything alright.
And i know just how it feels,
Cos i have lived a life like you,
A life filled with pain and violence,
To my promise i will be true. |

| i def. know what that responsibility is like. almost a burden, and so many fucking times i've tried to kill myself but i know i can't just leave them cause i too have made that same promise. i would do anything for my family... |
