I trusted to much

We used to be friends
Now good times are all over
You were the only one who I never fought with
The only guy I could ever talk with
I trusted you so very much
Too much
You let me down
You hid away
Friends by night
Not even aquatinted by day
You talked to me
Each night on line
You told me it was okay
That everything would be fine
You would start to let me into your world
But you didn’t
Then you said, “let’s make a bet”
And I went along
You bet that you could get with me
Before the summers end
I went along
But you didn’t win
And as the summer progressed
You grew angrier
More distant
More dark
The love I once felt for you was gone |
