The woman that sweeps
written by tater_salad07:54 PM 3/6/05On the streets of India a woman sweeps
Often scrubbing upon her knees
Praying for a time when she can finally sleep
She lives in a shack far from the beach
Where to the gods she sends her pleas
on the streets of india a woman sweeps
She secludes herself when often she then weeps
In side the abandoned shacks and allies
praying for a time when she can finally sleep
Tired and hungry she is always on her feet
the gods ignore her--someone help her please!
on the streets of india a woman sweeps
The dirt piles up and up--into the cracks it seeps
no time to look for food--the people she has to appease
Praying for a time when she can finnaly sleep
She wipes and swipes--up her spine the cold creeps
No money to buy a blanket--eventually she will freeze
on the streets of India a woman sweeps
praying for a time when she can finally sleep |
