Voices
written by tater_salad07:55 PM 3/6/05I cant open my eyes. Those voices are telling me to sleep. I feel the bugs crawl across my face as I smack my alarm clock. Time to waste another day. I practically crawl to my dresser; my body swaying from side to side. My hands feel like they dont work as i put on my oversized JNCOs and tee shirt. Brushing my hair seems futile since it is so long and wavy.
'Alex!' I turn around and see no one there; just like many times before. finding food is pointless since i dont eat. 7:30--Better go before i am late to school. 'where are you going Alex?!' I spin around to find no one there, still. 'To school' i say simply. going to the school I hate. I hop in my saturn and speed off. 7:45-just in time.
A huge crowd of people stand in the parking lot staring at something. 'Alex! thank god you're here!' My best friends Charlie shouted. Charlie was the only person i could tolerate in this damn place. 'Bobby is gone! He left his stuff here; its all covered in mud. He left!' BObby is her boyfriend. they had been on the rocks for some time. I never did like him.'He's gone? why?'
'alex...Im pregnant.' I felt more rage than ever now. I wanted to kill the bastard for leaving her like this.'I'll be right back. stay here' I walked away from the crowd towards the front doors of the school. 'She is going to die, Alex. They are all going to die. Its all your fault....all your fault' a raspy voice whispered in my ear-which I ignored like all the times before.
'Oh my god, she jumped!' I heard from far away. On top of my saturn, lay charlie's mangled and bloody body-her face barely recognizable. My stomach heaved. The words 'its all your fault' echoed in my head. Charlie's head turned slightly my way and began to speak to me in a soft whisper, 'its all your fault alex' blood trickeling from her lips as she spoke.'Did you see that?!' I shouted as tears began to fall.
'See what? SHE JUMPED!' a freshman girl said.
'Its all my fault!' I shouted and hijacked someone's car and drove home.
'Aleeeeeeeeeexx.' that raspy voice sounded-more clear than ever. now at home, i lay in bed and try not to cry.
Ring Ring ring, the doorbell sounded. A cop is standing at the door. 'I need to take you in Alex. you pushed her. Its all your fault.'
'Wait! This makes no sense! She jumped!' 'too bad you had to resist arrest, Alex' the officer said as he beat me over the head and in the face with his nightstick. 'She jumped! She jumped! Its all my fault!' The words echoed inside my head as i lay there halfway unconscious......................Beep Beep Beep
