» Poem: Scared to leave
Scared to leave
written by Hondo1
03:45 AM 3/7/05
Sitting in her room, listening to her radio
And staring at her poster on the back of her door
She sits with her back against a pillow,
Her arms holding her legs.
She sighs and looks up to the celing in her room, thinking of the day when she will be out with friends.
She thinks of the day when all of this stuff in her room will be in another house, and she shudders to think that she will have to live all on her own. She also thinks about living alone, without someone to talk to, no one to discuss things over with when she has things on her mind.
She remembers a conversation with her mother a few months ago when she thought about this, how she cried when she realized she would be open for anything bad to happen, and how she cried and cried like she hadn't done for a few years.
She thinks back on that night, and how she didn't want to end up like her uncle; 40 years old, still at home and alone.
She knew it wasn't going to be like that for her, she would marry and would work with her horse and have fun with life.
