» Poem: Do You Even Care?
Do You Even Care?

I know you will value the day when my presence cease to exist.
I can hear it from your tone when you say "bye, I love you" as I walk home.
I can see it in your eyes as I walk through the gate separating us...watching you...
I'm always watching you.
Hoping to catch that sign that you actually care.
But it has been months since the day we met.
You don't care...
You never did once you knew you had me in your grasp.
In your hands,
weak,
and powerless.
In danger of being torn down by simple actions and words.

Now I’m avoiding you.
Do you even notice?
My friends say you don’t.
That you’re better off without me and that I am too.
But I made a promise to your best friend that I’d never do that to you.
And he promised me that I was the most important thing to you.
I hoped it was true,
so I held on longer than anyone would.
Still avoiding you,
I see no sign of that kind boy I fell in love with.

Where are you now?
I was watching you for just a second and now…
I see you with another girl.
We didn’t even go through that tragic heartbreak
normal couples go through…
Or did we?
Are we just special?
