» Poem: Broken Wings
Broken Wings
written by squirrelsarehot

The tennyo falling from the open skies,
Her tears coursing like the rain.
The broken wings with which she flies,
Are those which cause her pain.

The moon-light glimmers from her gown,
Which is draped with glimmering diamonds.
Onward she falls, further down,
Ignoring her heavenly summons.

For she has fallen with broken wings,
A icy, cold soul.
No one loved her, or so she thinks,
And she falls now with her whole.

The darkness which had engulfed her,
Cast her aside for frail.
And as her tears kept falling,
Those tears turned into hail.

The snow-white hail of sadness,
That fell to earth in vain,
That pristine, deadly hail,
Slowly turned to rain.

The ice-cold pain of the maiden
Melted as did the hail,
And her wings upon her back
Healed without fail.

The maiden returned to Heaven,
She knew that’s where she belonged
And upon the tennyo’s return,
The heavens broke into song.
