Lives for Sale

Lives for sale ~on corners~
from the druggie who took a bad turn
from the prostitute who sold too much
from the gangster just asking to be shot
All waiting to be bought.

Lives for sale ~in the ghetto~
from the man who thinks nothing of rape
from the girl who is already a mother
from the child who had no one to care
from the lucky few who make it out
All waiting to be bought.

Lives for sale ~in the burbs~
from the housewife who is bored as hell
from the husband who pays no attention
from the kid who "went wrong"
from the baby who is destined for - nothing
All waiting to be bought.

Lives for sale ~in middle class~
from the woman who works too hard
from the man who is never home
from the child who spends life in a daycare
from teh elderly who worked all their life
All waiting to be bought.

Lives for sale ~in the hospital~
from the old waiting for their time
from the lady who is cursed with cancer
from the man who doesn't think or remember
from the child who is too drugged to care
All waiting to be bought.

Lives for sale ~in mansions~
from the woman who wants what money can't buy
from the man who commits adultry daily
from the maid who wants this life as hers
from the young who grow rich and old
All waiting to be bought.

You see, everyone in life
is waiting to be bought.
Everyone has a special
purchase price at a special
purchase time.

Everyone in life is connected
It just takes a while to
recognize the links
So no matter who you are
or where you are from

You will be bought.
Becuase
Everyone
Dies
Someday.
