Nightmare (comments welcome)

The nightmare will ride on hooves of shadows sight.
Across the dark plains dripping with blood form the sun so low.
A flash of white across the sky, rain of a pearl’s shimmering sigh.
Hove beats echo from within the eye to where distance is no more.
The wind will howl like the last wolf alive.
Clouds will flow like dreams on the wind and the shadows will caress the land.
A growl from afar, a beast roaming the sky, it’s rumbling, it’s getting closer.
The knife comes down, a blade of heaven’s rage, shining like a million fires.
The land is deserted, the doors are locked, they know the time is nigh.
The branches of trees shiver, their leaves fall dead, their trunks fossilise and die.
The screeching tears at all sanity, the moaning drives saints to evil.
Eyes in the darkness, ablaze with the future, it is nearly upon us.
Leg’s of nights flaming desire, hooves of the moon’s caress.
Shining with the darkness, like oil dancing with silver serpents.
Riding with the speed not even time can tell, an image of reflections in so many eyes.
It’s been to countless different worlds, countless different times and now it’s here as we knew it would just as a stone falling has to reach the ground.
Destroyer of words, creator of speech, the blackness in nothingness, the shard of anger’s light.
Eyes that see beyond our blindness, governed by no rider.
Answers we seek but questions it brings, shadowing tomorrows sight.
What will our world become, now that the mare of the night has come? |
