I’m On My Own

I’m on my own but I don’t care.
When everyone’s gone and everything’s broken.
The blanket of nothingness covering my sight.
I look to the moon but I see no light.

I’m on my own but I don’t care.
The rain is pouring like acid from the sky.
Things are crumbling all around, fragments of a lullaby.
Time is endless even though I never knew infinity existed.

I’m on my own but I don’t give a damn.
I stand alone watching everything shatter, everything fall.
Light is polluted, darkness is drained.
Love is lost in the ruins of hate, happiness minced in the shards of sorrow.
The future is gone although it was never there.
I’m on my own but I don’t care…
