» Poem: Secret Crush
Secret Crush
written by nicole_lyndon

I look at you but I can't touch
My feelings I hide, they are too much
I wish I could tell you how I feel
This all seems rather unreal.

I work up my courage and ask you out
My mind is set, without a doubt
I stand still, a statue of fear
Your voice rings out all so clear.

You ever so gently turn me down
And I walk away without a frown
Did I actually expect you to say yes?
My heart moves around like a pawn in chess

And yet I do not sit down and cry
I wonder why around you I am so shy
Your choice I guess I amend
And wonder if you'll be my friend.
