--Dont You Know?--

You've got those eyes,
Those cold empty eyes,
Dead like you, inside.
They are yellow now,
Like a monster,
Even through the alcohol,
You know it's nearly over.
Stand by my side,
But you're not really there,
Tears fall from my eyes
And you dont even care,
Sometimes i feel you near
But in my mind i know,
The person you once were
Is nothing but a ghost.
I take your hand,
And it's so cold,
You barely even notice,
With your eyes closed.
I wish i could say
You are hanging on for me,
But you live only for the bottle
And i remain unseen. |

| That was not mean to be blank. I dont know who this poem is about for you but it symbolised my dad for me, i liked it. The end needs rephrasing but i particularly like the ghost line. |
