» Poem: Beach
Beach
written by HitomiCherub

I sit on the beach
Feeling the sand between my toes
Where nothing is beseeched
Remembering my friends, and forgetting my foes.
I feel the sea breeze through my hair,
I feel the sun's rays beating down on my skin.
Out to the sea's horizon I stare,
Noticing the reflection in the sea of the clouds' so thin.
I stare at the sky, wondering how the clouds change shape,
Feeling the sun's rays beeting on my face, not caring if it burns
I hear the kids around me playing, and notice some listening to some kind of tape,
I get up and ask if I can have fun with them, and if the building of a sand castle, we could take turns.
I have fun, forgetting everything on my mind,
Remembering only how to build this castle of sand
Letting all memories fall behind
And glad that they let me lend them a helping hand.
I feel the sea breeze once more, watching sand blow away
Wondering if that's how my life would be
If I decided on this beach I would stay,
But knowing that it wouldn't be me to do such a thing
To let all memories fade into nothing,
And live on this beach.
I walk to my home, in the building I go,
Still remembering the sand in my toes, the breeze through my hair,
Still forgetting all my foes,
And knowing that the beach will always be there.
Tomorrow is another day
For one that I can't wait.
In my home I will not stay,
For which, indoors, I do so hate.
