--You Are All You've Got--

When you waited in the cold
For a bus that never came?
So you stood there all alone,
Rain lashing from the night sky
As you took out your phone,
Unaware of him behind you
Untill the knife was at your throat,
Who was there to save you?
Did you see a god that night?
The only one beside you
Was the one holding the knife,
You were crying for your parents,
You screamed for your best friend,
Did any of them come to help you
As your life was about to end?
Who told you what to do
When you punched him in the face?
Who showed you where to go
When you ran away?
On the night you realised
No god could make it stop
You saved your own life
Because you are all you've got. |
