You Are My Home

There's always a place I can call home
A place where I can feel safe from harm
And this place is right in your arms
And I can finally feel that everything's alright
While you hold me throughout the night
You dry the tears from my eyes
And hold me without asking why
Where my dreams suddenly become real
And I no longer have to hide what I feel
I can smile a smile that isn't fake
And I can admit when I've made a mistake
I don't have to worry about being judged
And you don't mind if my makeup is smudged
You just hold me and listen to what I have to say
And help me survive through the rest of the day
And I can count on you to catch me if I fall
To be my everything when I have nothing at all
And when I've had another bad day
I can run to you and count on you to stay
You'll sit down with me and whisper in my ear
Comfort me and tell me what I need to hear
When I'm with you I never feel lost or alone
And this is why, to me, you are my home |
