» Poem: My Ultimate First Prize
My Ultimate First Prize
written by izzzy

I feel it is a privilege to be a persons star
I feel it is an honour to be just where you are
I feel it is heart wrenching to see you there in pain
When I am here and you are there and attempts are all in vain

But enough of what I feel, this is about you
About the day we met, the things you say and all the things you do.
About all the times the tears have welled inside
About the love and all the care that you dare not even hide

I feel you are the reason for me to open my blue eyes
For the warmth I long to read each day as I stare into the skies
I think about you everywhere, in all I do and say
I just hope I can thankyou in time for every single way

It is plainly inconceivable to see even how much
I rate upon the importance of your tender loving touch
There is no way, nor time of day that you could even see
Just how much I love you or how much you mean to me

And so I am here to thankyou for the day we met
The times we have had since then are ones I won't forget
And I wait for the day when we see each others face
My eyes will flutter, my thoughts a clutter and my heart will start to race

And then I put my hand into you outstretched palm
And all in an instant I just start to calm
I start to wonder this as I stare deeply into your eyes
I have won the ultimate, the ultimate first prize.
