To Romeo

Passionate thoughts have stolen all my heart,
An undying love and one last attempt,
I cannot stand it when we are appart,
For a prince so fair and a knight so bold,
In these eys could never to such worng,
A life without you and my world turns cold,
With your love i will forever be strong,
Though always you will be a Montague,
It matters not what our families think,
Cause my love for you will always be true,
Forbidden, rare... YOU are the missing link,
You can keep my heart forever and more,
Yes you are the one i truely adore. |

This is a sonnet me and Nicole wrote in English. I never realized a sonnet is so fucking HARD! hehe. Ms. Tye (our english teacher) said it was good. AND we still haven't fixed the iambic pentameter... we have the wrong accent on the wrong words and shit. oooops! help me if you can! and tell me what you think of it. (PLEASE!)

| Writing modern sonnets does not require any rhyme scheme at all, but the basic thought process of the sonnet should remain intact. Present a thought and then a conclusion. When we take liberties with poetic forms we often create new ones, don’t be afraid to experiment with sonnets and make them your own...as seen is this particular sonnet. Good job.
