This Is How I See Things

They say there's no point to life

That we all came from the random coupling of cells

In the primodrial pond scum

And yet you wonder why the teen suicide rates

Are going through the roof

You can't imagine what could make the depression

Rates in adults and teens alike to increase

Ten-fold

Maybe if you didn't compare us to being a speck in

The Greater Scheme of Things

We'd all be better off

Maybe if you didn't force us to act twice our age,

We'd all be just fine

All we've got is seven years to be teenagers and

The rest of our lives to be adults

So why rush it?

But that's only where I stand, just one person out

Of billions, or according to your Warped Standards,

Just another smudge on your perfect windshield
