» Poem: Farther Away From The Edge
Farther Away From The Edge
written by TAINTEDSOULisBACK
04:56 AM 3/17/05
Farther away from the edge I am inching,
closer to reality,
the ropes that are binding me pinching,
the stench of conformity growing strong,
my mind distinguishing right from wrong...
Save me.
Pull me away from these form-fitted thinkers, before I buy their bullshit,
hook, line and sinker.
Give me a shadow of doubt,
in this glaring ray of hope,
put me on the familiar route,
cut me from this rope...
Don't let me bow down,
don't let me turn around my frown,
keep me insane in this inane world,
keep me believing in the times we had,
before the idiots grabbed ahold of me,
before you were always mad,
before our desolete hope sank in to the sea.
Please don't let yourself sink,
keep afloat in this ocean of optimism,
and pour salt in this incision,
remember it and take it to your grave,
and always remember,
I'm the only one you can save.
