» Poem: Aslea
Aslea
written by Black-Kitsune-sama

Sing in me muse, and
tell me the story of
Aslea of the Shadow Princesses,
controler of wolves, and user
of the magic of shadow,
of how she saved the woodland.

Aslea, walking through the dark woods,
trustingly followed by her gaurds,
the five wolves of the Shadow Pack,
looking about and testing the wind,
with their coal black noses.
As she was looking at the moon,
she heard a sound far off.
She turned slightly and listened,
Aslea reconized it as the assembly call.
Aslea beconed to her pack,
then swiftly ran to the deep black castle.
All of the Princesses were there,
milling about in utter confusion.
As the noise in the room grew,
the Shadow Queen stepped out.
"Be still and quiet now!", she said.
Everyone stopped talking and looked expectantly
at the Queen as she stood,
wrapped in dark swirling shadow.
From the audiance someone yelled,
"My Queen! Why have you called us,
here on this dark night?"
"The woodland is in danger!",
she exclaimed mightly. "What do you mean?",
gasped the princesses. They glanced at each other muttering to each other.
"A great wild fire is headed this way.
We must stop it before it reaches,
our great forest home. "I will help!",
Aslea called out. "Let me go.,
I will stop it before it gets here."
"You will help?!", exclaimed the Queen increaduasly.
"Yes.", Aslea replyed bravly. "Let her go.",
said Rain, Shadow Princess, controler of Ravens.
"You are just a child.", said Queen.
"I have power though and
I am unafraid.", replyed Aslea.
The Queen sighed then nodded.
Aslea and her wolves set out,
to the edge of the great forest.
Morning was dawning with rosy promise,
when she reached the edge.
Aslea looked about at this new area.
A great black cliff was standing, to
her right. To the left,
was just plains and rock.
As she looked foreward she smelled,
the burning scent of smoke.
As she stood watching, flames appeard,
a bright, twisting, raging enferno.
Aslea stood there watching the fire,
approcing at an alarming rate,
momentarily mezmerized by the flickering light.
As the sound of the blaze,
reached her ears Aslea tore her mind,
away from the hypnotic sight.
She looked about to see what,
she could do to stop it.
"Dirt. Dirt puts out fire.", she thougt.
"But where will I get enough dirt,
to put out that wild fire?", she thought.
Aslea then rested her eyes on,
the dark cliff above the fire.
A slight smile crept across her face.
Aslea raised her hands and,
a great, black, billowing shadow formed.
Aslea pointed at the cliff,
the shadow dissapeared into the cliff.
Aslea then closed her fist,
and yanked her hand toward the fire.
A great rummbling was heard,
then the cliff fell down onto
the raging fire stopping it dead.
Her loyal wolves then ran foreward,
searching out any last flames,
and scraping soil over them.
Aslea was watching them do this when,
a great cheering was heard behing her.
Aslea turned to see animals
of all sorts. Along with
the Queen and the other Princesses.
The Queen stepped foreward and said,
"Aslea you have saved the forest."

FIN.
