Hiding Behind My Smile

And I pretend i am okay.
I cry myself to sleep at night,
And fake a smile all day.
If someone is to notice
That i am really feeling down,
I insist that i am fine,
But when all alone,i frown.
I cannot shed a tear near them,
I cannot let anybody see,
The bruises and scars on my arms,
Or that somethings eating away at me.
So i keep my mouth shut,
And store all my pain inside.
No one can know my secrets,
Or that ive planned my suicide.
Do you ever start to wonder,
If this is really me?
Do you see through my fake smile,
Or are you fooled by what you see?
Sometimes i even fool myself,
Into thinking i am okay.
I wonder if i'll ever open up,
And stop keeping it inside one day.
Till then i hide behind my smile,
And pretend i am okay.
I cry myself to sleep at night,
And fake a smile all day. |
