» Poem: The Mirror Speaks
The Mirror Speaks
written by nicole_lyndon
01:27 PM 3/20/05
I look into the mirror and face thy twin
I'm reminded of pain and suffering within
A tormented soul, self confined
A spark of hope so ill timed

Touching the skin of a pure white dove
Cloaking evil in unconditional love
But in the end the dark breaks through
Casting shadows exposing the real you

If the eyes are truly the gateway to the soul
look at me and deep black hole
Enter the dark and face the truth
feel the pain and loss of your youth

As the sands of time have slowly slipped away
and all of your life has led to just one day
the day of reckoning, the day of fright
the day that turned forever night
