» Poem: and if
and if
written by devilchild01

when silence finally settles in
and my mind is free to wander about,
I find myself going to a place lost
long ago in the dreams of a child,
I find you there dancing in meadows
blanketed with wild orchids
and you play there and prance there
wandering so freely without a care,
no worries, no troubles,
just joyous laughter and sunshine eyes
sparkling in the mid-day light,
with your spirit fluttering about
like the most brilliant of butterflies,
flying from flower to flower,
basking in the sweet nectar,
like that of a young child's fantasies.
and if there were to be just one dream
for me to have on this day, it would be
that I, if even for just one afternoon,
could have danced and played
there with you.
