I Love Hating Loving You

I told you to forget about me.
I understand, I believe you,
run away now, you're free.
Feel the freedom,
flowing through your veins.
You don't need me,
go to a place where love reigns.
But still you're there,
standing despite my warnings.
You said you needed space,
it's not love, it's not care that you're ignoring.
You don't see with your eyes,
and you don't feel with your hands.
The one who truly suffers,
is the only one who understands.
Love is painful, as it's meant to be,
but love is worth the suffering.
Among the ones who suffer,
are the ones who live most happily.
So give me your worst memories,
I'll endure them for you.
Even if I'm among them,
I'll endure them for you.
I feel pain when I'm with you,
I feel the sensational tragedy.
But I always seem to come back for more,
the bitter arrogance of being unable to be free.
I hate to love you,
but I love hating loving you.
Love doesn't blind us from imperfections,
only those who have never felt it can say that's true.
I hate the way you make me laugh,
when I'm trying so hard to be depressed.
I hate the way the wind catches your hair,
and it seems as though just caressed.
I hate the way you seem like you're not listening,
and then surprise me with how well you really are.
I hate the way you look into my eyes,
and tell me how they look like stars.
And above all else, I hate the way you love me,
eternally and defyingly, strong and true.
My eyes have never been more dry,
I've never had to cry when I was with you. |
