» Poem: tired
tired
written by devilchild01

I lay in bed still weary
from a restless night un-slept.
Instead of dreamy slumber
I thought of you and wept.
Gazing at stars through parted blinds
Old memories did renew.
So I picked the brightest one
and feigned that it was you.
When strong arms were needed
on you I'd always call.
And when my heart was weakened
you'd save me from the fall.
The memories we've made together
Can never be erased.
All the dreams, hopes and fears.
And rainbows we did chase.
Now so many years later
our friendship, I really miss.
You were the one I'd turn to
through sorrow and total bliss.
Sunlight dances upon my wall.
As night recedes to dawn
I wish that I could see you
but the rope jerked twice and you were gone.
