Shattered Frame

You keep saying that you truly care,
How can you say that if you're never there?
Your words always sharpened, pointed,
Always slurred and stirred with hatred.
Yet why do you give me such nice things?
If later you only begin your firey swings.
No, I don't think it was something I did.
For you've treated me this way since I was a kid.
Though I still didn't understand you from the start,
Mom and Dad, I love you with all of my heart.

I never meant to hurt you or make you cry,
So please stop making me wish I would die.
