Brother of mine...

How I loved you so!
Unrelated by blood,
But I didn't care.
The answer to my prayers,
Someone to look after me,
Protect me from my terrors,
My knight in shining armor.
The son of my father's new wife,
Two families become one
I thought I was getting a happy new life,
How was I to know it was all game?
The world is so simple at five years old,
Just play nice,
And do as you're told,
But Brother, Why would you treat me so?
I could go on,
But the shame silences me,
Even after sixteen years
I could shout to the world what you did to me,
But I just can't hurt you,
Even after all of my tears. |
