» Poem: Burn
Burn
written by Bloodfilledcinnabuns

All is quiet here,
Only the soft sound of tears,
Nothing lives, nothing breathes,
The only sound my ragged breath.

Dark room filled with secrets,
White noise so loud in my ears,
My head hung low,
Time passes by so very slow.

A single candle flickers light,
Flames trying to break free and fly,
Chained by the burning wick,
Prisoner of the light.

I watch the shadows on the wall,
They watch me as I watch them,
Mesmerized by the burning light,
So long I've lived in dark.

Untouched by love,
Never really known anyone.
Pain burned into me forever,
Though it's nothing new to me.

I've been alone all this time,
Can no longer bear it anymore,
I'll knock down the candle this time,
Watching it burn the dark and all.
