» Poem: Murdered
Murdered
written by Psycho_Penguin

A forgotten city,
A lonely street,
Where friend and foe,
Tend to meet...

Footsteps echo,
Rats scurry...
It's much too silent,
Start to hurry...

Splashing through,
Puddles of a rainy day,
Followed by something,
What I cannot say...

The shadows deepen,
My breath grows fast,
Somehow I know...
This walk is my last.

Freeing my sword,
Shining in the light...
Blade poised and ready,
Ready for the fight...

Slowly they circle...
It's twenty to one,
Demons of my past,
Out for some fun...

Then it happens,
Too fast for my eye,
They are upon me,
I know I'm to die...

Their claws cut deep,
Teeth cut deeper still.
Savoring the pain...
Before their kill...

A flurry of death...
Spreading red...
On the cusp of life,
Wishing I was dead.

My throat's been slit,
My body now broken,
My death is to be...
Their cherished token...

I lie face down,
In a crimson haze...
Reality's broken,
A morbid daze...

Waiting for death,
Soul to be freed,
Lost from life...
By this one deed.

Undescribable pain,
Everything slips away...
Closing my eyes,
Night from the day.

My eyes open,
Is this heaven or Hell,
Darkness surronds,
I cannot tell...

The ground is soft,
I'm on my back...
I feel no more pain,
From the attack...

I look around,
There etched in red,
Those clock numbers,
Must mean I'm not dead.

This is how I feel after I awaken from a nightmare... I don't know fantasy from reality.
