» Poem: Wandering
Wandering
written by writingpoetry_inadarkroom
06:54 AM 3/24/05
I walk these streets, it gets much colder.
I wander aimlessly, through the dark.
As the years go by, I get much older.
The pain suffered in my life left its mark.

I am alone, I have been forever.
I'm happy the way I am, don't change me!
Follow the conformist crowd, I will never.
No one in this sad world is trustworthy.

I've survived just as well off on my own.
Don't need help from you or anyone.
I just need this world to leave me alone.
I really want to go off and have fun.
These streets, I will continue to wander,
And now the air is so cold and somber.

I wrote this when someone forgot to pick me up. It was getting really dark before I finally found someone to lend me their cell phone.
