The Last Battle (Please Comment!)
written by TheLostandNeverFound
08:14 AM 3/24/05
Amid the wings of sleeping dreams
To fall under it’s spell
Brought to a place where the sun gleams
And water falls from secret dells

The land appeared to live and breathe
The trees swayed and danced
Cool and calm it blew -- the breeze
The waters clear as glass

With every joy there comes an end
And sorrow follows after
Darkness covers all again
Drowning out the laughter

Never to set eyes upon
The blissful serene scene
Empty and dead it was - the song
All hands rise up to bleed

The clouds darken, the earth trembles
The Angels speak for the lands no more
Men young and old prepare for battle
while the beasts from darkness lumber forth

Sound of metal, clash of steel
Savage cries and howls of pain
Men die in writhing agony
as the mace rises to slay

The end has come, doom approaches
Day bows fealty to night
The hearts of men is failing
Where now will they turn for light?

Snow falling from the Heaven’s above
healing the wounds of troubled days
like frozen tears filled with love
quelling the land that fires blazed

The clouds part and a star appears
reminding those that linger on
That hope transpires where once was fear
The darkness has lifted, the war is done

She could give Tolkien a run for his money! That was awesome. I mean, Tolkien was an excellent poet, he would have enjoyed that I'm sure.=)
