» Poem: Growing Up (hey you!) |
Growing Up (hey you!)
written by MintyFreshGirl08:39 AM 3/24/05I miss...
The rainbow heart undies
I wore when I was four
Staying home with Mommy,
Playing barbies on the floor.
I miss..
The days when cooties
were the only STD we knew,
Playing Power Rangers at recess:
I''m the Pink Ranger, you be Blue.
The bath toys and the bubbles
are swirling down the drain
Like the years of my life
A happy sort of pain
You know, It makes me wonder.
When I'm married and have a career,
will I sift back through my life
and miss the teenage years?
The little thrills of highschool:
passing my crush in the hall,
the sleepovers and movies,
oh I'll miss it all!
So before I get caught up
In the nostalgia of my past
I should savor what I have right now.
For time, it moves too fast. |
