The Other Species
written by burnt_shamrock1301:12 AM 3/27/05You don't know how hard it is to be someone
A multitalented, witty genius
An eight-sided diamond
That is fragile
Do you think Syd Barret realized his own danger?
Or a phony hero
Who bleeds air through his thick skin
Waiting
For people to remember to forget
Was Kurt Cobain too impatient?
Us small-towners love tragedies
To reveal the complexities of a painted life
That we may only hear of
As a fictional biography
Why are we mesmerized by pain?
We love crazy people
We hate them
We would trade our lives
Then kill ourselves
Music is an old jig
It's a whole other life to live
Go to the dark side of the moon
Which is packed with literal dreams
Then hug me close and tell me I'm a somebody. |

It's a pretty complex poem. To me it's just about people's illusions about rock stars and stuff like that. tell me your honest opinion. [ View burnt_shamrock13's Profile ] [ Go to the Poetry Portal ] This Poem has been viewed 96 times
