Neon sunrise at sunset
written by butcakes01:25 PM 3/27/05Neon Sunrise at Sunset
Turning me against what i know,
Pointing me to bigger better things.
Telling me it will help me grow-
Kettle boils, T.V. is on, Telephone rings.
White plastic glistens in chandeliier light,
Moving parts produce noise and heat.
House comes alive - day turns to night,
Advertised propaganda you cannot beat.
Sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll,
Stereotypical American dreams.
All of which come at a toll-
STD's and hung-over dreams
Pills that will make you lose weight;
They give you what you "need"
Denialists can't accept their fate,
Instead they feed on greed.
Does 'impulse buying' pay off in the end?
It's your call, you roll the dice.
Expecting worldly things to help you mend-
You're the one to pay the price! |
