Always yet never dead
written by Talk_is_cheap--so_am_I03:59 AM 3/28/05I don't know why
some dead don't die
They stay to haunt
through hurt
They seem to never say their final line
Or leave this lovely world behind
They stay and seem to be everywhere
you are
Your mind is full of pictures
Of love and live and lectures
But these words never come from them
for they are gone
Left you in this life
Without them to help
Without them to lean on
Leaving you to fall
Falling without their prescence
Yet it is always there - spirtually, at least
I just want to be away from the pain
Caused by that day
The day the world fell apart
When your train called for final depart
Yet it wasn't a train, it was a car and truck
Collision
The truck ran over the car
The car's passangers died
leaving this world behind in a cruel twist of fate
yet you didn't die
When I go to school or the mall or the movies
I still dread coming home late to your angry words
For staying out past curfew but they don't come
becuase you aren't there
Yet the moment I walk into the back door
try as I might to sneak in
I feel you there - your smiling yet mad prescence
But it isn't you
It's the ghost of you left behind
What that truck didn't demolish
What death didn't suck away from you
Your poise
Your knowing what to say in any situation
I happened to get myself in or out of
You smile, laugh, love and care
All are still there
So I just wanted you to know, my loving angel
That you will always be there with me
That you will always be my mommy, mom,
ma, mama, mother
You will always be me and when you died
A part of me departed with you on the train
the train that took you to heaven
and left me behind |
