Fire

Rises in my throat
I see that look
The one you used to get
While playing with the candle wick
In the cover of night
While whispering sweet nothings in my ear
The one of pure adrenaline
Wanting to cause chaos
And knowing you have to contain yourself
Please
I plead
Not here
This isn’t the place
Nor time
We can solve our issues other ways
But you don’t listen
And do as you please
Acting like a little kid
Searching for Easter eggs the bunny left behind
Only I’m the only one left behind
While you destroy my life
And everything that could have been
My everything is a blaze
While you stand idly by
And listen to my screams
Why oh why
Please don’t do anything more
I can’t stand it
I’ll go with you
To the place you call home
And live
Just don’t ruin mine
The flames flicker
And dance along
Singing a tune of terror
As I wait until it’s over
Rocking back and forth
Staring from a far
Hearing the sounds of salvation
And the blue reflected in your eyes
Now the tables have turned
And the terror is in you
You try to take me with
As you fled the scene
Realize it’s too late
And leave me there
Staring at the mess you created
The fire inside me still burns
Only more visible now
