Talk With Mom

decide that i should help u.
we havent talked in a while
and its the first time that its just us two.
we talk about how things are going for me,
for once im fine with it,
cuz lately im being the best that i can be.
for once i feel like im ur daughter,
and it feels nice,
not like the days when talking to u was slaughter.
then, we start talking about dad,
we talk about how he was never around,
u both never knew that it makes me sad.
i wonder if we're ever gonna leave him,
cuz of all the trouble that goes on
but that chance seems very slim,
i ask u if u think he really loves me,
u think about it for a while,
u say he probably does but he doesnt see.
i think about this and i realize that he needs us,
he doesnt have anyone else,
hes practically alone and has nobody to trust.
he became bitter and somebody to hate,
u say he hasnt always been that way,
now hes someone that he chose to create.
im glad we had this conversation,
i never really said much to u in a long time,
i felt like we had a new relation. |

| this is odd that im reading this now,because earlier tonight my dad almost got arrested...again.an i feel exactly like the poem.hes never around an im constantly with my mom who lately i havent been getting along with very well lately.but i just wanted to say your poem hit very close to home an it touched me greatly....i know that sounded korny,but its the truth so hey,what ever. |
