» Poem: Outcast
Outcast
written by writingpoetry_inadarkroom
05:32 AM 3/29/05
I stand in the middle of the town square,
I look at the people all around.
Everyone in town just sits there and stares.
Meanwhile, I stand here, staring at the ground.

I have been cast out of this happy city.
And down the road, I have been sent away.
To a village, meant for people like me.
For those who are boring, dreary and gray.

I sit next to lepers, almost a sin.
I fit here, not in the minority.
I used to stand out, but I now fit in.
I am just like them, I feel no pity.

I'll curse them, forever unrest their soul.
The ones who cast me out, into the cold.
