An Ode to Jack Daniels
written by kryppled07:24 PM 3/29/05Oh, how I love thee! Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
Of my shotglass, when feeling out of sight.
For the ends of being and ideal grace
I love thee to the level of everyday's
Most loud need, by music and chronic hits
I love thee freely, as I get more blitzed.
I love thee more, as I fall on my face
I love thee with a passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childlike ways
I love thee with love, as I drink more booze
With my spirits---I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life!-and if God choose,
I shall love thee to even my death |
