» Poem: Thy Self
Thy Self
written by HitomiCherub

I always think
What it's like to be happy
And how I can make things better
But no matter how hard I try
I always find a hole
That needs to be filled

I am surrounded by friends
At school, and online
Those friends I hold very close
And cherish everything they say
I listen to them, they listen to me
And that's one of my life's thrills

Seeing people happy
Seeing people smile
Always makes me happy
And I seem optimistic all round
It's rare that I'm sad
But that sadness that I feel kills

It may not kill others
But it always kills me
Because my pain
Always rubs on others
And that is what kills me
The pain is like a hill

Which is something
That I have worked for years
To climb over
To see the sun rise and set
With my own eyes
And lock away the pain in a till

I laugh
I cry
I smile softly and innocently
And thus explains
Pretty much everything
