A Story I [comments are welcome]

She just took it all and didn't even care.
Didn't say anything to anyone.
Didn't do anything to make it go away.
Thought she was strong like the marching soliders.
Strong enough not to join the fallen.
Kept her eyes on the ground, watched it go.
When she was struck she felt it, yes.
But never bothered to care or clean it up.
The pain was gone and the blood had dried.
She was still standing and they didn't know how.
She didn't either but still didn't notice.
Passing out from the grip around her throat.
But always woke back up from the dark.
Started thinking one day, 'I must be ment to live.'
'I know I should really be dead by now.'
The beatings kept coming on and on.
The darkness always turned back to light.
One day she got out of the Hell hole called home.
Took a walk and was attracted by the cemetery.
Didn't even know she was walking to the back.
To the last row against the woods.
On the edge of the pond, between it and the trees.
She just walked through the shallow pond.
Came up on a small stone, something engraved.
She read her name from the depths of the marble.
Looked to her feet in the shallow water.
She didn't see anything looking back up.
Knowing she was still there, but yet not.
She reread the story in her head.
And it all made sense.
