» Poem: My suppressed inner being
My suppressed inner being
written by CLC_RockGirl

Somewhere inside me I see a bright star.
I know that there is someone shouting.
My inner being is stuffed down so far.
It wants to be free to wonder about.
This bright star striving so hard to be heard,
But I willsuppress this innerr being.
I will not let my outerself be steard.
I know this bright star will leave me smiling,
But I cannot and will not let it free.
I am afraid to shine in this dark place.
I want to blend in and hide don't you see.
Should I let it shine bright or hide my face?
Should I play it safe and hide inside?
Or should I shine bright full of pride?
